Artist Statement
Painting brings me Joy! Having been greatly influenced by the works of Gilbert Williams and Dan McCaw, I have found my artistic expression in Metaphysical illustration, Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism and Surrealism. Working with acrylic on archival claybord most clearly expresses my visionary response to what I see, think, feel, and experience. Color, texture, brush stroke and design, combine to illustrate the multi-dimensional aspects of both my inner and outer life experience. Emery Bear
Biography
Emery Bear’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States. Showings of his work have included; the Gentle Wind Gallery in Columbus Ohio, the Valley Bronze Gallery in Joseph and Lincoln City Oregon, the Galleria Obscurea and the Fifth Dimension Gallery in Ashland Oregon, and the Buffalo Thunder Gallery in Corte Madera California. In addition, his work is in many private collections throughout the world including authors; Alan Cohen, Michelle Payton and Neil Donald Walsh. Mr. Bear’s reproductions have been honored with “Product of the Year” and his originals “Artist of the Year” multiple times at the New Age International Trade Show, Denver Colorado. Emery Bear was born in San Diego California in 1951. He studied photography at the University of Nevada Reno and fine art at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland Oregon. Emery resides in the Colorado Rockies.
